What I Do

image-apSon of an illustrious church choir director of yesteryears, Augustine Paul has been singing in the church choir from the age of 10. He sings tenor in the Emmanuel Methodist Church Choir and conducts the Madras Musical Association Choir, perhaps the oldest choir in Chennai. He is the music director for Mellow Circle’s noteworthy annual Christmas musical play.

He founded the Octet Cantabile, a sought after singing ensemble of eight, and has performed in well over 200 concerts in and out of the country. The Octet has released six CDs of gospel music. He holds an LMusTCL, a diploma from Trinity College, London, and quit a bank job to take up music. He plays the piano, guitar and recorder and is adept at choral arrangement. He teaches theory of music, piano and singing.
